Please help. I'll give medal & fan!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

waddup

OpenStudy (kmullis6):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a is wrong it is c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did this question earlier today

OpenStudy (kmullis6):

Can someone explain please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if it where c the y int would be -7 which it isnt

OpenStudy (anonymous):

either C or D..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i meant d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'll give you the cvorrect answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

d is the actual answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cool beans

OpenStudy (kmullis6):

can you explain how?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well did you see that the shaded in part was not on -7 or 7

OpenStudy (kmullis6):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats how you know that it is not any of those

OpenStudy (kmullis6):

ohh ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

HA I WAS RIGHT..!!! BOOM SHAKALAKA.. *clears throat* anyways.... its not A cuz 2x + y is going to be greater than 7.. its not B cuz it had subtraction instead of addition and its not C cuz it wouldn't be less than a -7 so it would be D "the correct inequality is not listed"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

was that all?

OpenStudy (kmullis6):

Thank you guys so much! (:

OpenStudy (kmullis6):

yeah that was it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your welcome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

welcome :)

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

pick 2 points on your line (1,5)...x1 = 1 and y1 = 5 (0,7)...x2 = 0 and y2 = 7 slope = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1) slope = (7 - 5) / (0 - 1) slope = 2/-1 slope = -2 y = mx + b slope(m) = -2 (1,5)...x = 1 and y = 5 y = mx + b 5 = -2(1) + b 5 = -2 + b 7 = b so your equation is : y = -2x + 7 2x + y = 7 shading is below the line so it is less then 2x + y < 7 I think it is A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@texaschic101 I believe Mathematica agrees with your conclusion.\[\text{Reduce}[2 x+y<7]\to y\in \mathbb{R}\land x<\frac{7-y}{2} \]

OpenStudy (kmullis6):

The answer wasn't D ):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when i did it got it wrong and it showed me the correct answer was that

OpenStudy (kmullis6):

I think it was A but it ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok
