Find the value of x. Diagram not to scale.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To find x we need to do two steps: Use the strait line rule to find 'y', then use the sum of interior angles to find x.

OpenStudy (pagen13):

Okay?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

in a straight line, the two angles equal 180 degrees...so if 1 angle is 116, then angle y is 180 - 116 = 64 degrees. to find the sum of the interior angles of a polygon, use this formula S = (x - 2)(180) ---- x being the number of sides S = (4 - 2)(180) S = 2(180) S = 360 so our interior angles have to equal 360 so we have : 360 - (125 + 72 + 64) 360 - 261 = 99 so y = 64 degrees and x = 99 degrees

Thank you

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

sure thing :)
