help

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Okay, let's do it one by one. Starting with #1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Normally for alleles are either recessive or dominant in which dominant allele completely overpowers the recessive allele, for example in pea plant Tallness is dominant over shortnes hence if genotype is Tt the expressed phenotype is tall.. Correct ?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Yes, dominant alleles are symbolized using capitals and recessive alleles are symbolized using small letter.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Nopes...i'll explain the pink one too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Okay, so now we know about the normal condition. Let's talk about the second condition called Incomplete dominance. In this condition the dominant allele is incompletely dominant over the recesssive one. So it is not able to overpower the recessive allele completely. An example is flowers of `Snapdragon` plant. In the flowers of this plant, Red color is incomplete dominant over white one.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

So what happens here is that the Red and a little of white is expressed together (because unlike normal condition here red R is incompletely dominant over r) and they collectively appear as pink.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Makes sense ?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

?

OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

Maybe he/she is afk...

OpenStudy (abhisar):

do u understand it now ?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

okay so the last condition and the one involved in #1 is CO_Dominance.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

In this condition both the alleles are equally dominant and can not overpower each other. So in this condition both of them will express thgemselves equally.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Thus both the traits will appear. In the question both red and white hair are codominant so both red and white hair will appear... Exactly you opted for the correct option.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Sorry for the delay....i ghave to go check some mod stuff in between.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Let's move to #2 quickly..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (abhisar):

You can do that if you wish....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i'll post it here

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Yes, that's correct. Mutation produces similar copies.....mutation is not necessary.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

yw

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Correction: Yes, that's correct. Mitosis produces similar copies.....mutation is not necessary.
