P= c +2b +3a, for c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solving for c?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes I believe so

OpenStudy (anonymous):

c=P-2b-3a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

subtract to isolate c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright, well what you want to do is, isolate the variable c, sort of like how your equation has p isolated on its own, in other words you want the variable by it self. So to do this, what ever you do to one side you must also do to the other. You want to cancel out the +2b+3a on the right side, to do this, what is it's opposite operation that will cancel it out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

subtract

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what will the answer be

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Subtract -2b-3a from both sides what do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[p-2b-3a=c+2b+3a-2b-3a\]
