OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

What is it with people just wanting answers in the math section? Please try and learn the material everyone! The answer that makes me literally LOL gets my medal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2 many newbs

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

They have smart scores of like 30 or up lately...

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

some even in the 60s

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But I swear, they make up fake accounts to get answers. Like, you see a noob, and you may give them a few answers because they're new. And if people keep making up accounts, they're just taking all the answers without learning.

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

may be they are not as smart as you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Maybe, maybe not. But what I'm saying is that some want the answers and not the steps

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

... driving me crazy. I sit there and attempt to teach then they'll start guessing and I show them how to check the answer but they still just stop once process of elimination occurs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, that's what I mean. Like, it gets annoying :/

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

and Math, first, I'm not that smart-if there is one thing college has taught me, it is that. Second, I want someone to try, I will explain material 50 different ways so they understand . You don't have to be smart to try.

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

@Loser66 what u think

OpenStudy (loser66):

To me, No one forces me to help others. Hence, no complaint if someone doesn't want to study. I am ok with that.

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

yea no complaints ,no demands

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

I get that. I guess, if you are asking for help, I expect you to actually want it. Guess it's just the teacher in me :/

OpenStudy (loser66):

One more thing: if I have free time, this site is for fun. It helps me fill up my boring free time. hehehe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

I chuckled at that! I guess I have a sad social life. lol

OpenStudy (loser66):

Somehow, it helps us to pass the boring time, right? hahaha.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can someone give me the steps to my question?

OpenStudy (loser66):

LOL>>>>>> LOL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Some people just aren't interested in it, unfortunately, but it's not their fault, it's the way we are taught it. If you want someone to learn math you make them long for it, it's sort of like this for every subject.

OpenStudy (loser66):

@Knamzy tag @FibonacciChick666 at your post

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

... I guess. I will do that, but COMMON CORE is the death of math in the US currently

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

that and under qualified teachers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Common core is evil

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's so ridiculous

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Sometimes I'll go out of my way to provide a more specific explanation because even though the asker is not interested, there are still others that view old questions and learn from them :P Plus I love to be critiqued in math (in a non harsh manner) so I learn and find new methods to solve problems by!

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

... I private tutor an 8th grader who was working at a fourth grade level when we started. Guess what started in 5th grade for her?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dunno, what?

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

coomon core....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I've always had common core tho

OpenStudy (loser66):

I have many problems in my courses. I tried but still get a C minus on my tests, hahaha.... but it is ok to me. no pain no gain. That girl may be the same boat with me.

OpenStudy (loser66):

Behind the course is shameful. Keep helping her, please.

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

well, her mom is a high school Calc teacher, so... she gets taught the traditional way at home, but then is penalized when she uses it. She had a whole homework of correct answers and didn't get a single point because she used the traditional method...

OpenStudy (loser66):

wait!! why?? in maths, no matter what the method is, as long as you get the answer, you are ok, right?

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

yep! but no credit for the whole assignment

OpenStudy (loser66):

W.T.....???

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

yea. And now they are so fragmented that I'm not surprised she hasn't retained any information

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:O that's a darn shame! My 6th grade teacher was like that, and I hated her so much. If you get the answer right, YOU GET THE ANSWER RIGHT!!! It doesn't matter what method you use, as long as you know what you're doing!

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

unless it specifically states use this method, I agree

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Exactly

OpenStudy (loser66):

If I were her mom, I sue the teacher, hahahaha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

`wait!! why?? in maths, no matter what the method is, as long as you get the answer, you are ok, right?` Not precisely if the question says what's 4*1 You can't write 2*2 = 4 :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

BATMAN, YOU MAKE ME LOL XD

OpenStudy (loser66):

hahaha, there are many way to get the target, for example: |dw:1416708463249:dw|
