Dynamic is also a movement stretch but a much more controlled and relaxed movement. This is considered a safe stretch for beginners. (ex. - leg swings, arm rotations, torso twists.) Active is when you assume a position and then hold it there with no assistance other than using the strength of your own muscles. this is also considered for beginning stretchers. (ex. - sitting on ground and reaching for your toes, standing and holding something for balance while pulling your knee up into your chest)
