D is the set of integers greater then -5 and less than 5

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

There should be nine elements in the set D

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

What is the question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D is the set of integers greater then -5 and less than 5 in roster form and set builder notation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-sqrt 3, 1) find polar coordinates

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Roster form means you list all elements inside { }

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Set builder notation means you write a description using math symbols inside { }

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mathstudent55 whould it be then D={-5, -4, -4, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5} for roster form

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Close, but you need to be careful. An integer greater than -5 is not -5. Same goes for less than 5.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Read @UnkleRhaukus comment above.

any help on my problem?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

@Nicomia1023 Instead of posting a problem in the middle of someone else's problem, please start a new post. This way your problem will be noticed and someone will eventually help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah thanks i think i get it :) @Nicomia1023

Then welcome to OS. To ask a question, look near the top left of your screen, where you see "Ask a question..." Use that box to post your question.

@monicat48 Are you still here?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

@monicat48 When you come back, look at this example: A is the set of integers greater than -6 and less than 2. Roster: A = {-5, -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1} Set builder: A = {x | x is an integer, -6 < x < 2} The symbol | is read as "such that"
