1/4 is 25% off. so 30 dollars is 25% off the original should i explain any further?

You would set up an equation. Here is an equation based off of the given information. \[\frac{ 1 }{ 4 }x = 30\] You can then multiply both sides by 4 to cancel out the fraction, also isolating x. Then you have your answer.
so its 120
