Genotype means: The genetic makeup, as distinguished from the physical appearance, of an organism or a group of organisms.Which basically means the general traits that we predisposed to exhibit.Example = eye colour Phenotype means: a. The observable physical or biochemical characteristics of an organism, as determined by both genetic makeup and environmental influences. b. The expression of a specific trait, such as stature or blood type, based on genetic and environmental influences. The clear distinction between the two definitions is the role that our environment plays on the outward expression of our genetic traits.
