What is the volume of a piece of gold that has a density of 19.3 g/cm3 and a mass of 15 grams?

OpenStudy (zephyr141):

density is mass over volume\[\rho=\frac{m}{v}\]just rewrite it in terms of what you want to find.\[v=\frac{m}{\rho}\]then plug in your numbers and solve for v. density is in g/cm^3 and mass is g so\[v=\frac{m}{\rho}=\frac{g}{\frac{g}{cm^3}}=g*\frac{cm^3}{g}=cm^3\]just plug in your known values to find what you want.
