Everyone gets what he deserves. To each person goes what is due to him. It might be a statement of what happened, what should happen, what fate will make happen or what is intended to happen. That is, it can be a prediction, as in karma will see to it that each gets what is due to him, it can be a statement of how things should be, such as each worker will be rewarded according to his effort, or it can be a judgment of how things turned out: each got what they deserved. But in any case, it is a statement of fairness.
