ill show you 1.2.05 x 10^5 seconds there are 60 seconds in 1 minute there are 60 minutes in 1 hour there are 24 hours in 1 day there are 365 (or 365.25 days) in 1 year 2.05 x 10^5 seconds | 1 minute | 1 hour | 1 day | 1 year --------------------------------------... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . | 60 secds | 60 min| 24hrs | 365 days Notice how you can cancel the "seconds" from top and bottom; also cancel mintue, hour, and day. They only unit left is "year." Now, multiply the numbers on top; multiply the numbers on bottom; divide. There's your answer. This works with conversions such as change miles/hour to furlongs/fortnight. You just start and end with something on the top and bottom of the fraction line. source: yahoo
