The frequency polygon was formed by marking the midpoints of the tops of histogram bars and joining them with straight lines. The histogram bars are no longer shown, however the dots on the polygon show where the midpoints of each bar would be. If you find the dot on the polygon between SAT scores of 1200 and 1400, you can read off the vertical axis the number of students ( in thousands) in the stated class interval (between 1200 and 1400).

Now you can read off the vertical axis the number of students ( in thousands) in the stated class interval (between 1200 and 1400). Hint: Don't forget that the figures on the vertical axis are the number of thousands. Therefore you need to add '000'.
