The Structure Most Responsible For Mantaining Cell Homeostasis Is The_____ A. Cell membrane B. Cytoplasm C. Mitochondrion D. Cell wall
Plasma membrane / Cell Membrane / Plasmalemma is a cellular structure responsible for maintaining homoeostasis (equilibrium between internal and external environment of cell). This membrane is selectively permeable, i.e. it allows only some selected ions and water to enter the into the cell. It doesn't allow strange, foreign, nasty and non-important things to enter the cell. In this manner it maintains homoeostasis between cell and external environment. Cell wall has no role in the maintainance of homoeostasis. It is completely permeable and plays only important role for providing strentgh to a cell.
