PLEASE HELP!!!!! a taco stand sells tacos for 3.25 each. the stands expenses for the day are 210$. define your variable and write an inequality to represent the amount of tacos they need to see per day to make a profit, and then solve the inequality. Provide your conclusion as a complete sentence!
@Mariam.A
anyone...
so they need to sell tacos that will cover the expenses for the day (>$210) and also provide some profit
yes..
so if x represents how much tacos sold in a day and they need to sell >$210 what do you think the equation should look like
uhh, 3.25x+p=210 ... i dont know...
@Mariam.A
what is your p for?
profit? i dont know this is hard...
@Mariam.A
having two variable in an equation makes it messy with x and p in the same equation it will be more difficult to solve
so i recommend eliminate the p and just have 3.25x>210 so that means the number of tacos multiplied by the amount for 1 has to be greater than their expense
oh...
I'm still confused @Mariam.A
ok... but you do get the equation?
so the equation 3.25x>210 is explaining that 3.25 mulitiplied by x which represents number of tacos is always greater than 210 which represents the expense
okay I understand that! &Mariam.A
@Mariam.A
ok now you can solve for x using 3.25x=210
can you do that?
would that b the answer ???
yes
ok what did you get?
I got $64.61
@Mariam.A
$64.62 to be exact if rounding off so that means x>64.62
is that the answer??
yep..thumbs up
thank you! you're awesome!!
