Chicago is far North, and so is New York, so if they went North, that IS what would happen. The question wants to know what WOULDN'T happen. C makes sense because moving to a highly populated area can make it easier to be known. That leaves D. If you lived your whole life being someone's slave on a farm, and suddenly you were free, would you just go and randomly start up a farm of your own? Most people wouldn't want to set foot in a another farm again! Wouldn't you agree?
