OpenStudy (piercetheveil47):

Select 2 sets of points from the chart and find the rate of change. (9, 8) (9, 12) (10, 13) (7, 8) (11, 13)

OpenStudy (piercetheveil47):

i picked (9, 12) and (10, 13) is the rate of change 1???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

slope = vertical change 0ver horizontal change or rise over run rate of change is primarily slope.

OpenStudy (piercetheveil47):

how do you find that though?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

take the selected coords and graph. what is the distance from (9,12) to (10,13)?

OpenStudy (piercetheveil47):

square root of 18?? ( i used a calculator lol)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. You can graph the points and "count" the vertical changes and horizontal changes to use in the formula 2.You can substitute the points directly into the formula \[m=y _{2}-y _{1}/x _{2}-x _{1}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use the second.. gawd lol

OpenStudy (piercetheveil47):

so its negative 1??

OpenStudy (piercetheveil47):

when i used the formula i got negative 1, negative 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they should be positives... :/
