i need help with an oceanography quest will give medal
Why do you think many of the world's large cities were founded near estuaries and deltas
I cannot expalin in detail but hope this site will really help you in your question .. :) so here it is ----> http://geography.about.com/od/obtainpopulationdata/a/Geography-Of-Estuaries.htm
this is easy as
okay so lets think about ancient times
before there was artificial crops and nutella people needed to farm and they needed wheat and crops and also fish
lets take egypt for example with the nile delta
when it flooded it deposited silt on the soil which made growing crops lucrative
now lets think of modern times
what possible reasons could we have that New York city - to use an american example - or the Gold Coast - to use my home town Australian city as an example - would be founded next to the ocean?
trade, fishing, leisure, sewage etc etc
@arabpride @leonardo0430
besically there are 9999 reasons why now and in the past humans always choose to live near the oceans / water ways
for drinking, because it brings prey there for us to hunt, because it is an abundance of fish, because crops need water, for washing and cleaning, etc etc
try imagining a life without the oceans.......it just wouldnt work
