One mainly huge difference is that the Historical one was Geocentric, meaning that people thought that the sun and planets revolved around the Earth, and that the Earth was the center of the solar system. The modern one has a heliocentric system, meaning the planets revolve around the sun, and that the sun it the center of the solar system.

Another difference id that in Historical models, people though that the planets revolved in perfect circles. In the modern system, the planets revolve in or oval shapes.
