Does your eye change color as you grow older?

I've never heard this before, but I don't see why not, I mean your hair loses pigment as you get older so why not eyes? Plus, babies eyes can change colour, so it can't be impossible. Have you googles it? Google is your friend ^^

Because melanocyte cells continually produce pigment, eye color, in theory, can be changed.
Changes (lightening or darkening) of eye colors during puberty, early childhood, pregnancy, and sometimes after serious trauma (like heterochromia) do represent cause for plausible argument to state that some eyes can or do change, based on chemical reactions and hormonal changes within the body. Most eye changes happen when the infant is around one year old, although it can happen up to three years of age.[19]
Studies on Caucasian twins, both fraternal and identical, have shown that eye color over time can be subject to change, and major demelanization of the iris may also be genetically determined. Most eye-color changes have been observed or reported in the Caucasian population with hazel eyes.[20]

Hey Scarlet yes they do change color they turn darker the older you get.
I will share something with you that I get in my eye color my eyes change color every day from grey to green to brown to yellowish blue. :)

So, let's say that your eye color is a really dark brown. It would then turn black?

No it would just look black but it would actually be very dark brown. I want to know what is wrong with my eyes though like why do they change color? lol

LOL. When I was 12 my eyes were a greenish and now I'm 19 and their bluish grayish :) thanks for the help!

Yes the eye color will change.
This is because older ppl get different protein portions than before. It can also be the genetics of the person.

I am not old but i have noticed that my eyes change rarely. It is most likely genetics for me :)
