...and we should all commit crimes - and that will be fine because we didn't commit a worse crime.  Please see that this is horrible logic.  Hey, that almost makes it belong in the math section.

Criminal: Dear Mr Judge.  I am sorry I stole that car, got drunk, and ran into a tree.  At least I didn't rob a bank and kill two people!

Judge:  You are right.  I guess it could have been much worse.  You are free to go.

The problem with this logic is that it presupposes that crime is NECESSARY.  Whoops!  You can also choose to commit NO crime.  Much better.
