The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
So I have a expository essay, I have to write for school. The essay is on the novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. This is what the expository essay is suppose to be on: Mark Twain uses The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn to make a personal statement on the issue of slavery. Explain how and why Huck's attitude toward slaves and slavery changes throughout the novel, based on his personal relationship with Jim. My teacher wants us to use specific quotations from the text, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn to support our answer. Can anyone give me some quotes from the book? I have to state, where the quote is located, like a chapter and a page # etc anything that tells me where in the book the quotes, and put it in internal citations and cite in MLA format. So if you can please try to include where in the text you found the quote. If you can please try to include the internal citation also, it would be helpful and easier on me when writing this essay. I'm like extremely behind in my English class and I don't have a copy of the book to use for this essay. So any help you can give me will be great. I tried finding some quotes online to help me and I haven't had the best luck with this. I know in the story in the beginning Huckleberry Finn views Jim as a object, a slave and not a real person, but I know as he gets to know Jim they become really good friends, and Huckleberry Finn starts viewing Jim as a really good friend and equal to him. For the most part I can write a decent 2 page essay on this, but my problem is finding the info, the quotes from the book to back up what I am saying and my teacher is requiring that in my essay. This is why I was hoping if any of you have actually read the story, or have a copy of the story and know anything, like some quotes from the story that can help me out, it would be very helpful. Thanks in advanced for any help you guys are willing to give me :)
Hi, @TQKMB the full online book (Pictures Included) is located at the link bellow. Link: http://www.gutenberg.org/files/76/76-h/76-h.htm - The Librarian, Joshua
Is that all, I'm still having a hard time finding the quotes I need for the story, like I don't have the time to read the entire story, that's why I was hoping to find someone who remembers enough of the story to be able to give me even a general idea of where to look in the story to find the info I need. Thanks anyway @Librarian
Hi, @TQKMB the problem is that I am not allowed to just give you the answer and with book reports that's the only thing I could do which is against the CoC. I suppose I could give you a short summary of the book and you could add to it? - The Librarian, Joshua
I'm not asking for you to write the essay for me that is against the CoC. I need some help finding some info in the book, so I can write my essay. A summary of the book isn't going to help, I know what the book is about. I can easily google a summary of the book if I need it.
I honestly don't understand the story I find it confusing for the most part that's why I need help finding some quotes for my essay. Like a general Idea of where to find what I need to write my essay. I honestly didn't think asking for help finding some basic info for a essay is breaking CoC? I'm not asking for any answers, or someone to write this entire essay for me just a general idea of where to look, a step in the right direction. Is this something you can help me with @Librarian ? If you can't could you at least point me toward some people on OS who have read this book, and could possibly help me out with this. I honestly don't know where to begin on my essay and I thought if someone helped me find some quotes for the essay, it would help me write this entire essay. I would like to just get this submitted, and I'm having a hard time with this essay, my teacher is no help, and I'm not getting any help on OS either.
@TQKMB I have read the book, I just am very busy let me think... @TheSmartOne @just_one_last_goodbye @Elise_a18 - The Librarian, Joshua
Thanks so much @Librarian
Can y'all help with this? @dan815 & @Joel_the_boss - The Librarian, Joshua
@TQKMB , I've also read the book and a good webite to use for MLA format is Easybib. It's free and it automatically inserts the information it already knows in the MLA forming area and it'll organize it all for you :)
I use easybib all the time when doing my work cited page, I could probably figure out how to do the internal citations on that cite. Thanks for the info. BTW you sent me a message @Elise_a18 and I can't respond because you only accept messages from people you fan. Can you either fan me, or change your settings?
Yes, one moment :)
Never read the book but I might still be able to help. :/ @Librarian Pm me
What do you mean by quotes?
Cause i could say he was a boy
my quote " bubbles"
I need actual quotes from the book. Like something that is actually said in the book, that relates to what I'm writing about. Something that could help me write this essay. I posted above what I have to write about. ^^
@TheAsker2002 Do you think you could help me?
Hey everybody :) I still need help with this. If anyone is willing to help me. Please reply back to me.
Cant help :/
I can help. Dont you have an option to choose between a few stories? I did "Of Mice and Men".
@ayyookyndall This is suppose to be the unit 4 portfolio, the expository essay, but my teacher likes to be a pain in the butt, so she modified all are portfolios for the semester, she gave us a specific topic, which is what I listed above. If you could help me with this that would be great, I'm like 3 portfolios behind in our English class, and my teacher said start with this portfolio cause it's on the story we read for unit 3, if you could help me with any of the portfolios I'm working on that would be nice. Thanks @ayyookyndall
What are your other portfolios?
I just sent you a message. @ayyookyndall
Are you online? I sent you a message.
