HELP WITH EQUATION !

OpenStudy (kidthatbro8):

\[\frac{ 2 }{ 3 }x + \frac{ 8 }{ 3 } = 2^{x}\]

OpenStudy (kidthatbro8):

the answer choices are x = –2 x = –1 x = 1 x = 2

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

I think by substitution, your solution is x=2, namely: left side: \[2*2+8=4+8=12\] whereas right side: \[3*2^{2}=3*4=12\]

OpenStudy (kidthatbro8):

oh, thank you !

OpenStudy (michele_laino):
