OpenStudy (k_lynn):

I would definitely give you a medal for this, but you haven't commented. :D This really clears things up. Thanks!

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Good job @Abhisar :D

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

... Maybe we should ban them all and start with a new group that follows the rules @Abhisar

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Abhisar you should do what works best for you but this is a huge family and i think that would be incredibly stupid seeing how so many people are joining our group and we are rapidly building the site

OpenStudy (abhisar):

@lyricalDevonne It is great to here that but there is a reason why these things are not allowed. Posting youtube videos from other artists, Violating copyright laws by pretending to be an Artist or otherwise will only lead to deterioration of the website. Also the goal of OpenStudy is to teach and provide a platform where students can get help in their academics. `"we ask what our favorite songs are, we joke around, RAP Battles"` these are nothing but spam according to the policy standards. If you need to do these conversations anyhow, use chatboxes (they are for the purpose).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no they say that that this is their favorite song when posting youtube videos. and chat boxes do not allow the group of people that love to freestyle together and do rap battles any justice the reasoning of battles is to see whos best and it has many people doing it at once no one is violent or mean in any way here why mess with it?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

`no they say that that this is their favorite song when posting youtube videos.` This has nothing to do with academics or the subject matter. And the same applies to `Rap Battles` The one and only Goal of Music section on OpenStudy is to help people with their academic aspects of Music which includes the points mentioned on the top.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

@LyricalDevonne Anyone that keeps it up is asking to be banned from the site. The topic is music education. The site is an education site. It is not a chat site, a rap site, a favorite song site, etc. It is a homework help site. So things you would find in Music History, Appreciation of ... Music, Music Theory, etc. are the topics. The rest is all spam and unwanted. Regular spammers are warned, suspended, and eventually banned.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

@Abhisar Here is one that @Ashleyisakitty made. http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/544ff664e4b0f8f2501bd910

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its ok im just letting them know

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

@LyricalDevonne no, you are flaunting the fact that you break the rules. We are letting you know that will result in your being banned. This is in accordance with the rules set forth in the posts by the admins, as well as the Terms and Conditions you agreed to follow by signing up for this site.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Romnya this is what i was talking about with your song

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

Sorry!

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

Should there be a rule for no fishing for medals here?

OpenStudy (ironhide):

Yeah, I came here wanting help with my music theory homework and all I got was stupid crap. :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@e.mccormick @LyricalDevonne @Abhisar ok so by asking if anyone listens to escape the fate i could get into trouble. please explain to me how asking that simple qestion it is consided to be spam. what if i am just try to connect to other people who listen to the same band? and with the rap battles its just simply a few people trying to injoy themselves to be honest i love to read them it was a highlight of my day. school is boring and i could get on here and go to music and read a battle or answer to someone who asked about a band i love listening to. I dont mean to sound rude but i loved that openstudy would allow you to ask the qestions you wanted and be you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Dustinself42 this is what i was taking about

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Blacktiger @Broken_heartedgirl123 @chefducky

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

" what if i am just try to connect to other people who listen to the same band?" and "and with the rap battles its just simply a few people trying to injoy themselves" are not within the purpose of the site. It is a place for study. The admins have made it quite clear it is for music education related topics.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

@priecetheveil First of all OpenStudy is an educational website where you ask questions related to the academics. It is not a website (like ask.fm) where you can ask any random question. "if anyone listens to escape the fate" is an off-topic (non-academic) question and hence should not be asked using Ask a Question box otherwise it will be considered as spamming. Same goes with the Rap-Battles...they have nothing to do with academics though you can post your own Raps (untill the language is clean) for feedback.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

understood. i have no more qestions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@savannah152426

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you @Abhisar :P.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@pooja195

OpenStudy (anonymous):

abi no yell at me :?

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

???

OpenStudy (poopsiedoodle):

bump?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

The bump counter is really high at this point, so....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no banding ppls

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

banning*

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, banding as in trying to form one, would not be great. But a band that existed that wanted to go over a piece, that is something else.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

think about it why would you band those ppl when you have done rong before mayby you did something worse you have to remember @TheSmartOne that not everyone is perfect ppl will do rong you can't just stop likeing them for is that means u the smart one so plz leave them be if they get into trouble they get in trouble MYOB

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@RAINIAR dont you agree with me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We live in a country with the freedom of speech but OS is a privilege and has rules and if you get in trouble, you've probably done something wrong and you'll be suffering the consequences because they kick u out, it's happened to me and now I'm very watchful of what I post and say. If anybody wants to say something that doesn't follow the Code of Conduct, OS isn't the place and some other place is. I enjoy OS and am willing to follow the rules to enjoy this privilege :)

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

People like to throw "freedom of speech" around, but do not understand what it even means. That is a law that restricts the government from preventing expression of concepts. Where it stems from is when nobility used to kill people for saying anything bad about them, etc. Nowhere in there did it require that businesses follow the law. If you were pro-crown even after the revolutionary war, a pub owner could still kick you out if you came into their place and spouted off a bunch of "We should still be under British rule!" stuff. If you said it in the public street, there was nothing the government could do. But in a private establishment, the owner gets to set the standards. From a legal standpoint, the solution is this: If you do not like it, make your own music site with your own rules about what goes on there. It really is that simple.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Rock the Love !

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

@shira44 No one is perfect. But I am no one. Therefore I am perfect =P Right? @jigglypuff314 @confluxepic @sleepyjess @sleepyhead314 :P hehe lol (its an inside joke :P )

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so ur alien lol @TheSmartOne

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

bump this post somebody? :P and question: are you allowed to post original covers on here? (so like a cover for a song, but i arranged the cover myself).
