if i have weightlifting everyday but ones after school while the other is during school and they are both for an hour, what should my workout routine look like if during my after school session is when i do deadlifts, powerclean, clean and jerk along with using upper body strength, what should i be doing during my other class to maintain strength but not do the same workout

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because you should only use weights 2-3 times a week but this would cause me to do it 4 times a week. would it ruin it even if i did other workouts that just helped improve?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Monday~ power clean clean and jerk deadlift Tuesday~ (3rd pd) bicep curl incline leg ext. bench lunge how could i fit these into my schedule to where i am able to do all of them without working out too much if i have 3rd pd every other day, so therefore it switches off from monday, wednesday, friday, and tuesday, thursday?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@PRAETORIAN.10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk do you know alot about muscles or whatnot?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or what substance would help rather than protein shakes and snacks?

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

|dw:1417149049772:dw|

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

@arabpride is a gangly beast though she bench presses like 3 elephants a day ask her

OpenStudy (arabpride):

OMG!! /.\ you stalk me through the garage?!! you're not S'POSED to!! T^T

OpenStudy (arabpride):

And Saved btw~ ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOL, well i need something that could help me become stronger rather than steroids......

OpenStudy (anonymous):

shouldnt you atleast know about that @PRAETORIAN.10 lol, you said you were going towards being a doctor so yeah never know i might be one of your future patients and i will ask you so many questions about nutrition, etc. lol.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nice drawing. how did you manage to do that without messing up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jabez177

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Teddyiswatshecallsme

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you get what i am asking?

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

I do not really have a substantial knowledge of health and working out. But I would look up some workouts that work the same muscles. And if you do the same work out for too long then your muscles will get really used to that work out and you will not get stronger. So I would switch it up after 2 weeks of doing this current work out routine.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well how could i if i powerclean, deadlift, and then clean and jerk the majority of the week like monday-friday for an hour, like how could i workout without overdoing it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could i just like try maxing with it instead of doing it in reps

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like thats the point. but yeah its too heavy for me right now

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

I do not think that would work cx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like the whole point is gaining strength thats why i asked about muscle bars because im not going on steroids......

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

Well when you max out you are essentially pushing your body to its limit however, when doing reps you are building muscle rather than decreasing your reps and adding weight. That would be counter productive.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i have to do all of these workouts with 65 lbs + and last time i tried that it pulled a muscle and hurt

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://strengthambassadors.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/power_clean.jpg like what she is doing is what i have to do

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

Okay, they're are more substantial ways of getting protein that protein bars, however i see the convenience of having protein bars. I would use protein shakes or eat animal protein after working out BUT LEAN meat.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i cant have protein shakes they are bad for my kidneys and yeah its not like i can bring a steak to school everyday

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

Hmm.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah thats what i am saying

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

Well you could easily pack chicken breast in your lunch. Which is ample in protein.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

chicken breast....?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah and my parents arent going to cook that every night and so that would be better than a protein bar?

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

Yeah chicken breast. And true...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmm so then how could i gain strength?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like without having to workout alot?

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

Well I would switch from every day to 3-4 days a week. Alternating your workout.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm well did you see my workout routine above? like thats what i do. so what do i need to exclude to not over do it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if i basically have wieghtlifting everyday

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

How many reps per set are you doing? as well as how many sets are you doing?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hold on let me look in my book

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

Okay. cx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tricep ext.~ 5 sets of 10 , lunge~12x8, i cant really remember what else i do for the others its been a week since ive seen the board lol, but yeah idk i go for strength so i do less but i guess high weight low rep like more sets but less rep. idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and for like power clean, etc. we just do it how many ever times

OpenStudy (anonymous):

before we can get it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont htink i eat enough calories i think that may be the problem also

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like im supposed to have like 2800 + maybe a little more than this due to my weight changing but yeah

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

Ahh okay.

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

And for each weight you have to do 65lbs or more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yepp

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well for powerclean, clean jerk, and deadlift

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

and 65lbs for everything else?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yepp

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

Okay. I really don't have much experience in this area, so I wouldn't know what you need to do. :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i guess eating lean mmeats instead of protein bars could help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait what are some lean meats besides chicken breast lol?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so can having the lack of running be a way of working out too much? i mean i workout like every other day like 2-3 days most and but i worked out 3 days in a row for an hour should i be even feeling aches of working out too much?

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

Well there is lean steak, beans i forget which ones. You can get protein from various beans and they are filling as well. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i usually get alot of fiber from beans lol

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

Alright.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk like canned beans like uhm idk the ones everyone eats

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

Sorry to repeat myself but i am not good in health. My knowledge isn't overreaching. xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i mean should i even be feeling symptoms of "working out too much" yet like i only deadlifted, and all for like 3 days straight for an hour

OpenStudy (anonymous):

atleast answer this question ^ if you can

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

Hmm. You should be feeling soreness but not aching and pains if you are getting that then you are doing something not right too much, or too much in general.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i assumed i could deadlift 65 lbs. so i jerked it up fast and actually pulled a muscle but it was in my right arm and its my left shoulder aching

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like it doesnt hurt it just feels weird like as when you stop working out alot

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

Ouch, yeah that doesn't sound good.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like idk why it feels like this but i feel weak idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i feel weak

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

You should rest for 2-3 days maybe 4 and just don't eat too much.

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

And eat protein that is how your body will recover.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have to eat alot but idek how many calories i eat like i just eat big meals and go with my workout and see increasing results

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

Well you shouldn't eat big meals you should be eating like 3 meals and 2 snacks throughout the day. but before a workout you should not eat but after the workout.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i am supposed to eat 6-8 meals a day and then eat my protein 30 mins before and 30 mins after

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

Okay.
