How do i write a thesis statement when the prompt is asking you to identify something? For example, "identify and discuss where the speaker's allegainces lie in Modest Proposal. With what social group does he identfy himself?" In such question above, i found that the these statement is hard to make it clear when there is other information in the intro. paragraph.
The thesis statement is just a sentence stating a topic that you are writing about. In this case, your thesis statement would be where the speaker's allegiances lie in Modest Proposal and what social group he identifies himself with. Does that make sense?
i know. But there is a problem of these identifying prompt. when you answer where the where the speaker's allegiances lie in Modest Proposal and what social group he identifies himself with, it will sounds like a normal information statement. The teacher of cause know where the thesis is, because the promp is given by him. However, how about for those doesnt know this prompt? That's what i mean for clear
informative statement*
Hmm, well if I know where the speaker's allegiances lie in Modest Prompt I might be able to help a bit more. I understand what you're saying, though.
:) anyway, thank you for trying to help out. Maybe i can put some adverb infront of the thesis, such as however, eventually, therefore, etc....?
Yeah, maybe that could work. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. .-. Good luck, though!! (:
Great, thx :)
