Increases in greenhouse gases cause increases in global temperature because these gases are able to trap heat reradiated from Earth's surface. Answer True False
Heya! @surryyy ! Welcome back to Open Study! Before i give you the answer and the explanation....why don'u give it a try?
my answer is true
OK...'If' I say your answer is right...what will your explanation be?
The greenhouse effect is a process by which thermal radiation from a planetary surface is absorbed by atmospheric greenhouse gases, and is re-radiated in all directions. Since part of this re-radiation is back towards the surface and the lower atmosphere, it results in an elevation of the average surface temperature above what it would be in the absence of the gases.
No....you'll understand nothing IF you copy the answer from the Wikipedia...If you have not understood it..ask me..I'll surely help you..
OK i'll give the reason..
lol sorry
OK...so do you know what a greenhouse is?
a glass building for plants.
Exactly! The importance of the GLASS in that building is to provide a warm atmosphere inside the Greenhouse where the plants are stored...When sunlight enters into the greenhouse, the heat will be reflected back outside...but the glass inside it will not allow the heat( or infrared radiations) to pass through it ...is it okay?
yea so my answer is true
Yeah...the same mechanism will work in the case of our earth as well...:) HEre the GLASS is replaced by our Greenhouse gas, the one and only 'CARBON DIOXIDE"..:)
tysm!
psst...and yeah some other gases like SO2 and NO2 as well..: Happy OPen Sudying!!
