Number of zeros of 3(x + 8)^2(x - 8)^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is there -8 multiplicity: 2, -8 multiplicity: 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2 yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What? @sophiaedge

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there's 2 zeroes -8 and 8 and that's b/c of multiplicity. I'm always confused about where multiplicity counts as for more than 1 zero but i never count it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why is there only 2 of 8?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8 is to the 3rd power

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there's not only 2 of 8 there's only 2 zeroes
