OpenStudy (mortonsalt):

A rock is thrown from a level field with an initial vertrical component of 19.6 m/s and a horizontal component of 9.8 m/s. If frictional forces are considered negligible, what is the horiziontal speed of the ball at the top of its path?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

The horizontal component of velocity in 'ballistic' questions remains constant , provided friction (air resistance) is negligible.

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

as @MrNood said, the horizontal component will be equals to 9.8 m/s, for all times susequnt, since friction is neglectable

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

sorry, ...for all times subsequent...

OpenStudy (shamim):

U know the horizontal component of acceleration due to gravity is 0
