the steeple of a church is a right hexagonal pyramid 5ft on a side. if the altitude is 19.5 ft, compute the number of squares of roofing required to cover this steeple. square roofing is equivalent to 100 square foot

This use of the word "altitude" is new to me in geometry and I wonder if it is a mistranslation of the word 'height'. It could mean the slope height of the triangle, or it could mean the peak height of the pyramid. My term over many years for the slope of the triangle has always ben just 'height' and the area is given by 0.5 h x b where h is 'slope height' and b is base. On the assumption that it means 'slope height is 19.5 ft then you have 5 trianles with h=19.5 and b = 5 ft Total area = 5 x 0.5 x h x b You need to round this UP to the next 100 sq ft, since you can only get roofing squares in 100 sq ft increments.
