This is a question from Consumer Math. I've been having trouble with this particular assignment, not matter how I calculate, none of the answers I get match up with the answer choices. I'm not sure if the teacher made a mistake or if I'm just stupid haha. But please help!
To solve this, I did 100 - 4[2(4.50+4.00+3.50)] which got 100 - 96 which equals 4. Maybe I'm not doing this right...
@ganeshie8
according to the question as stated your answer is correct. so either the question is stated incorrectly or the answer choices are incorrect. but the main thing to remember is that YOU have answered this question correctly. :)
Really?! Wow, I knew I wasn't going crazy! Haha. There's actually 7 questions in total on the assignment, and I had problems 4 others because, no matter how I calculated and what I got, the answers I got did not match the answer choices. So my teacher made an error on 5 out of the 7 questions, wow.
I cannot vouch for other "wrong" questions but on this one your reasoning seems to be correct.
I'm going to talk with my teacher about this when I see her. Thanks!
