what sum would you do to work this out.. 3 3/4 is bigger than 1 19/21 How many times bigger

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

If the question is "how much larger" a number is than another number, you subtract the numbers. If the question is "how many times larger" a number is than another number, you divide one number by the other. In neither case do you add the numbers.

so do you divide in this sum or subtract

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

If you are answering this question: "3 3/4 is bigger than 1 19/21 How many times bigger ?", then divide 3 3/4 by 1 19/21. The way to do that division is to first convert each mixed numeral into a fraction. Then divide the fractions by multiplying the first fraction by the reciprocal of the second fraction.
