A building has a ramp to its front doors to accommodate the handicapped. If the distance from the building to the end of the ramp is 25 feet and the height from the ground to the front doors is 7 feet, how long is the ramp? (Round to the nearest tenth.) I believe the answer is either 24 or 26 feet

woulud it be 24 since you do 25 sqaured minus 7 squared then square root that answer?

You simply use Pythagoras theorem, in which the hypothenuse2= side1^2 +side2^2. Your hypotenuse is the longest side, in this case, the length of ramp, and for the other two sides, 7 and 25 making hypthenuse subjective of the formula, you get sqrt(7^2+25^2)= 26.0 feet.
