Speed is how fast he was driving which is mile/hr In this case he drove 240 miles per 4 hours Speed =240 miles/4 hours = 60 miles/ hour

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

Gas mileage is miles per gallon Gas mileage = 240 miles /12 gallons = 20 miles / gallon
