Ok, so my dad installed something called family safety so that i couldn't watch YouTube during school, Fine, but now he set it to allow access to YouTube, and now i can go to the site, but i cant play videos... please help?
What type of video's are you trying to watch bc some of the videos have a age lock on them to where if you are under 18 you can't watch them
im trying to watch minecraft, and i dont have safety enabeled
I can watch them on my phone or tablet, but even though he disabled it for YouTube, it still doesnt let me
Well he most likely set the internet to block the video's from YT
like he set it to let me go on there, and it worked, because if it didnt i wouldnt even be able to see the site, and it would tell me to check out sites designed for children, i understand im under 18, but its kinda insulting, just saying... But i get to the screen of the vid, and it buffers for a min, and then errors, and ive already checked, none of the usual errors are causing it
I asked him a while ago, and the internet couldnt have it blocked, cause i can watch on my phone and tablet, and my bro can watch on the family computer (im on my laptop btw)
To be quite honest i have no clue unless it was a virus... If you have Skype then add my older brother, he knows more about internet stuff than i do... Send me a msg so i can reply his ID
ive even tried in Firefox, im using chrome, and i disabled my ad blocker, and i could watch the ads, but not the vid...
i dont have a Skype
Ummmm i know he has a Facebook, you could add him on there
Maybe he could come on OpenStudy to help, not to be rude, but ive been taught not to trust everyone on the internet, not saying that you are a bad person, im just looking out for my own safety
I understand and okay 1 sec
thx!
Hello?
Hi
I hear you need help?
my dad installed something called family safety so that i couldn't watch YouTube during school, Fine, but now he set it to allow access to YouTube, and now i can go to the site, but i cant play videos
Okay, now what probably happened was when he installed it he also installed other programs
What would be best is to go to the control panel and go to uninstall a program and compleatly uninstall that program. Then when you are done with that restart your computer
I dont think there are any others, its a Microsoft plug in or something like that, but its not a physical program, and it has to be logged into the account that put it onto the computer to uninstall it
When you're uninstalliing make sure you uninstall the other programs that were installed when he installed the family safety program
Okay... Well if it is an account then you need to sign out and make 100% sure that you have access to Youtube before you sign out. It sounds like theres a bug that happened when he did the deny access to Youtube
i know, i was just hoping... thx for the help
Did you get everything under control?
I'm sorry i couldnt help anymore :(
