I am given a set of data, the question asks, suppose the timing device used in the mens race failed to activate at the start of the race and instead, began to record the times 'x' seconds. Consider the competitors times; would the 'x' seconds be added to or subtracted from the times recorded. would the median be affected - why/why not?
