Can someone please help me? A player throws a ball with an initial velocity of 15 m/s at various angles with respect to the horizontal. At which angle above the horizontal should she throw the ball so that it reaches the highest vertical displacement?

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Should be 90 degrees from the horizontal, so straight up, lol.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@iPwnBunnies but doesn't the initial velocity have anything to do with it? like how do we know its going straight up? is it not curving?

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

The problem states the person threw it at various angles from the horizontal. Doesn't matter about the velocity. If you threw something straight up, that would be the maximum height you can get.

so its like a trick question?

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

I'm not sure, lol.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, thanks anyway

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

No problem.
