how to simplify 81
Well what two numbers can you multiply to get 81? (They are the same exact numbers)
18/81 by dividing out the greatest common factor of 9 from the numerator and denominator.
What Belle said, plus you simply the number you get that gives you 81 to get your final answer.
Exactly!
9 times 9 = 81
Yes, but what can go into 9?
1 can go into 9
Yes, but what is the only other number that can go into 9?
I don't know, what else can go into 9
3
3 can go into 9 3*3=9 9*9=81
3 is the simplified number
I get it now
Ok, I am glad that helped.
Can 3*3*9 = 81?
Yes
3*3=9*9=81
I got it, thanks for the help guy's.
Np, I missed all the action
Your Welcome!
Next time, think of that as a pyramid
I agree@Wookie
It's how I learned. You have 81, you can draw a line on each side of the number of the numbers that go into and simplify from there
The initial question doesn't seem valid to me, because you CAN'T simplify 81. 81 is a whole number, written the way it is. You can re-write it as a product of prime numbers, or write it as some exponent of 3 (3^4), or, you can write it as 9^2 or anything... but not to SIMPLIFY it.
Oh I thought 81 could be simplified. My bad!
It can
You just simplified it..
Is 81 really a whole number Solomon Zelman? Because if it can be broken down to 3*3*9 then 81 isn't a whole number and it can be broken down.
