The quadratic formula, is as follows, \(\LARGE\color{black}{ \frac{-\color{green}{b} \pm\sqrt{\color{green}{b}^2-4\color{red}{a}\color{blue}{c}}}{2\color{red}{a}} }\) when the quadratic equation is, \(\large\color{black}{ \color{red}{a}x^2+\color{green}{b}x+\color{blue}{c} =0 }\)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

a, b, and c, are just numbers.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

in your case, a = 2, b = 5 c = -12 can you solve the equation now?
