Need some help with this... Will fan and medal... Select one song that has at least two poetic devices in it and write the selection's song lyrics. Be sure that the song you have chosen is school-appropriate. Then for TWO of the poetic devices you choose in the song, fill in the boxes below. You will be filling in a total of EIGHT boxes --- four for each poetic device you choose. The poetic devices may be of the same type, e.g. two metaphors, or they may be of different types, e.g. a word or phrase with strong negative or positive connotations and an example of personification. The song: Everybody, I'm sailing away, set an open course for the virgin sea 'Cause I've got to be free, free to face the life that's ahead of me On board, I'm the captain, so climb aboard We'll search for tomorrow on every shore And I'll try, oh Lord I'll try, to carry on Yes we will, yes we will I look to the sea, reflections in the waves spark my memory Some happy, some sad, I think of childhood friends And the dreams we had, we had dreams We lived happily forever, so that story goes But somehow we missed out on that pot of gold But we'll try best that we can, to carry on A gathering of Angels appeared above my head They sang to me this song of hope and this is what they said They said, "Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me, yeah Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me" I thought that they were Angels, but to my surprise They climbed aboard their starship and headed for the skies Singing, come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me I'm gonna sail away tonight Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me Here we go Come sail away, come sail away Come sail away, come sail away
