Can someone help me with this? ... Write an equation in slope-intercept form of the line that passes through the given point and is parallel to the graph of the given equation. (2, -2);y = -x-2
Could it be y = 2x ?
Okay well I guess I am not the only one who doesn't understand this stuff! :) Thanks
slope intercept form is y=mx+b
Yes
so knowing the y and the x you just have to plug iin the #s
I get very confused when they throw in the negatives. I am very bad at math.
yes y is -2 and x is 2 but because the x is a negative does it make it a negative 2?
if knowing the slope will stay the same (mx) then what would you change of the equation
negative to a positive
