**Will give medal** True or false. Northerners were interested in Joel Chandler Harris’ written works because they had grown up in that environment and found comfort in the racism and slavery his works portrayed.

I would assume false since, by the time Harris' works were published, slavery had already been abolished in the north. Harris didn't begin publishing his works until the 1870s and slavery was abolished in the north in 1804. Therefore, most northerners would not have grown up with slavery as a part of their daily environment. I hope this helps!
