\(\large\color{black}{ \frac{1}{a}=a^{-1} }\) so you can write a fraction as a whole number with a negative exponenet, but I am not sure that this is what you want to do though.

yes, and I don't see any other way of possibly making 1/8 int a whole number without changing it's value, asides from using a negative exponent.
