Looking for assistance as to where I went wrong in a problem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

k

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok I will

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

The problem is 5(8y-1)=-5(y-1)-360. I know what the correct answer is (thanks wolfam) however my steps keep pointing me in the false position. I will include my steps in a moment.

I realized as I was typing this out that I made an error in step 2. The left side of the equation still has the positive sign when I need to change it to negative. Sometimes typing things out can help. Let me try this again..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What's 5*-1?

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

Yep:/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

step 2 :p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha I just read you found your error, good!

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just want to to point out the right side on step 2 also has an error it should be -5y

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

Oh, great! Thanks! I got the right answer now. Thanks :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right on! :)
