A personnel manager of a large insurance company wishes to evaluate the effectiveness of four different sales-training programs designed for new employees. A group of 36 recently hired college graduates are randomly assigned to the four programs with 9 employees in each program. At the end of the month long training program, a standard text is administered to the 36 employees. The scores were: Program A had a mean of 81 and a standard deviation of 10; Program B had a mean of 68 and a standard deviation of 9; Program C had a mean of 77 and a standard deviation of 9; Program D had a mean of 84 and a standard deviation of 7. What are your hypotheses? Which groups are statistically significant from which groups?
