** I GIVE MEDALS** Identify a pattern and find the next three numbers in the pattern. (please explain it to me!) 1. -4,-1, 2, 5 2. 3, 21, 147, 1029 3. 64, 32, 16, 8
For 3: What happens when you divide 64 in half?
You get 32.
For 2: What happens when you multiply 3 by 7? How about 21?
1. adding 3
21 x 7 = 147?
2. multiply by 7
For 1: What happens when you add 3 to -4? How about -1?
3. divide by 2
@KailiTooKute you are correct! Good Job!
:)
So what would the equations be? Like n = ??
Did I explain well enough?
Can the patterns be written in equation form, or will the pattern in words be best?
The pattern for 1, for example, would be n + 3 = p if p represented the pattern, I believe.
Okay
You would be safer writing in words, if that is okay with your teacher, because I am not completely sure if that equation is correct.
to find the multiples of 3, multiply 3 by 1, 3 by 2, 3 by 3, and so on. To find the multiples of 5, multiply 5 by 1, 5 by 2, 5 by 3, and so on. The multiples are the products of these multiplications..... hope that helps
^ That helps! Thanks!
I wish I could give 2 best responses!
I don't need a medal, it's fine :)
