A company is looking to design a new cover for their smartphone. The scale drawing of the design is shown below. The coordinates of the actual cover are: H' (10,0); I' (0, 0); J' (0, 16); K' (10,16). Is the design of the cover similar to the actual cover? (5 points)

look at both scale drawing and actual cover http://gyazo.com/e5e581a2304bad705fc4ae2bc95d9fa4

k wat about it?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

what are the length and width of scale drawing ?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

what are the length and width of actual cover ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

l=16u w=10u

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Right, that was for actual cover. what about the small scale drawing ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

l=4u w=2u

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Good! Is the `ratio of lengths` equal the `ratio of widths` ?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

ratio of lengths = 16/4 = 4 ratio of withs = 10/2 = 5

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

4 is NOT equal to 5 since the ratios of corresponding sides are not equal, the design of cover is NOT similar to the actual cover
