Help With Algebra Please?! WILL GIVE MEDAL AND FAN!!!! The Rainier Furniture Factory takes twice as long to make a sofa as it does to make a chair. If the time to create 3 sofas and 4 chairs is no more than 15 hours, what is the longest time it could take to produce 2 sofas?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So for this question, how would you set it up? Let x be the number of sofas. We know that it takes twice as long to make a sofa than a chair.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does that make sense? Do you see where I am going? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the equation would be x times x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, you are given the information that it takes twice as long to make a sofa, so you need to figure out how long it takes to make a chair, then times that by two to see how long it takes to make a couch :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so how do i do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, see if you can find how long it takes to make 4 chairs and divide that by 4. C:

I don't really know how to do that :/ I'm literally clueless lol
