the reason for not allowing rap battles is as follows:
"The reason to why we cannot do rap battles is because many users get out of hand and start swearing. Not to mention the amount of off topic that goes on within the threads. People can post their OWN rap lyrics, but no have a battle to see who's better and so on."
it was not about the debate on whether or not rap is music, but that such posts very often led to cursing/rule-breaking

ShadowFiend (An Admin) set the rules for the Music Section. No, random rap battles are not allowed. Now, if you are making an OpenStudy rap directed by another Admin, then yes, feel free - but no random rap battles or anything along those lines. These have no academic value.
