I would say yes if you're talking about hydraulic fracturing, also called fracking. Fracking is a very dangerous process to begin with. The gas companies use a lot of unknown chemicals during this process due to fracking being excluded from the Safe Water Drinking Act. Meaning they don't have to release the names of the chemicals and they don't have to make sure they are disposed of in a safe way. These unknown chemicals leak during every stage. This causes a huge problem since many families have well water where the drills are located. One of the chemicals we do know of is cancer causing. Earthquakes will cause the ground to shake and could cause the drills to leak even more. Thus, putting more unknown chemicals and cancer causing chemicals into the groundwater where not only humans drink from but harmless animals as well. I hope this helps.
